Hello, my name is Elizabeth. I am a Registered Provisional Psychologist in Alberta and Canadian Certified Counsellor with over 20 years of experience in various roles working with diverse clients in community mental health settings. I enjoy working with individuals, couples, families, and teens 16+.
My educational background includes completion of a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Master of Arts degree in Counselling Psychology. I aim to build strong relationships with clients through empathy and compassion to create a safe and accepting space that facilitates clients’ comfort with exploring difficult emotions and challenging experiences. Along with setting a therapeutic environment, I strive to work collaboratively with clients to deepen their self-awareness, promote change and healing, and strengthen resiliency.
I utilize approaches and interventions based on clients’ specific needs and what will be most helpful for them. I am trained in various evidence-based approaches including cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT), solution-focused brief therapy (SFBT), eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, dialectical behavioural therapy (DBT) skills, and the Gottman Method.
My areas of focus include concerns related to anxiety, stress, depression, trauma/PTSD, relationships, couples’ issues, parenting, life transitions, self-esteem, boundaries, anger, and grief and loss. I believe we can find meaning even from our most painful experiences and that while the road may be bumpy, we are all moving forward towards change. I am deeply honoured to walk with you and provide support during your change journey.

I completed my Honours Bachelor of Science from the University of Toronto where I majored in psychology and specialized in exceptionality in human learning. I also received a Master of Education in Developmental Psychology at the University of Toronto. My modalities include play-based therapy (Synergetic play therapy), and a mixture of motivational interviewing, as well as solution-focused therapy. I also pull techniques from cognitive behavioural therapy and Gottman’s method depending on the clients’ wants and needs.

Hello! My name is Taylor Brost, I am currently a student counsellor completing my master’s in counselling psychology at Yorkville University. During my time in the MACP program, I have begun to develop my skills,
utilizing techniques from several theoretical approaches. Including cognitive behavioural
therapy, narrative therapy, and person-centred therapy. I believe the counselling experience
needs to be unique for each client. Therefore, I incorporate a biopsychosocial framework that
takes a holistic understanding of clients, considering elements from various realms of life (e.g.,
biology, psychology, and social-cultural factors) and how they interact with one another. Lastly,
respect is a fundamental value I hold and offer, as I believe it is a right every person deserves.
I look forward to walking with you through your journey towards wellness!
